'Sapphire and Jade with Square' |

This is an
abstract painting. It was painted with palette knives and brushes. Colors
used are ultramarine blue, light blue (I've forgotten which), thalo green
and white. This work contrasts the organic nature of free-flowing cool colors with the man-made square in the center. I have the sense of an advance and a retreat. The hazy white and light-violet areas bring to mind a mist rising from dark waters. |
